Education opens up the mind, expands our vision and allows us to improve our lives in so many ways.

At NAF, we view education as a tool to adopt to changes. The problems modern problems faced by our farmers need modern solutions. Climate change demands us to move towards climate smart farming. Lack of availability of labour can be solved through automation and machine-based farming. Limited natural resources such as land and water should be managed through integrated lean farming methodologies. Profitability can be doubled by shifting our thinking from ‘agri-culture’ to ‘agri-business’ driven by data-based decision making.

NAF has developed need based demand-driven training and capacity development programmes with new modalities and technologies, providing lifelong opportunities for rural people and creating a culture of “sustainability” by bringing massive behavioral transformation among the farming and rural community to test, try and adopt new technologies in agriculture and improve employability and livelihood opportunities, reduce poverty, enhance productivity, ensure agricultural sustainability and bring rural prosperity.

NAF’s training programs can be broadly classified into two categories: participant oriented and technology oriented. Participant oriented training programs focus on bringing the behavioural change through skill development which enables the participants (farmers) to be life-long learners to adopt to changes in farming and farm-based activities. Technology oriented training programs are designed to break down the latest agricultural practices in way that the rural farmers can understand and simplify the adoption of the technologies to small and marginal farmers.

NAF covers a wide range of stakeholders under its training and capacity building including farmers, youth, women, unskilled work force, students, entrepreneurs, professionals, bankers and service providers. The uniqueness of NAF’s training initiatives is its flexibility to accommodate the needs and aspirations of the target audience thereby making it more relevant and interesting to achieve the desired results.
