Soil Testing Laboratory
NAF Soil Testing Lab has been extending entire spectrum of agri analytical services to Indian farmers and various agencies since 2000. The state of the art and NABL accredited soil testing laboratory specializes in accurate analysis of primary nutrients, secondary nutrients as well as micro-nutrients for soil fertility assessment for agriculture.
Focusing on providing accurate and reliable test results to its clients, NAF Lab validated the soil test procedures and periodically crosschecked its test results with a renowned US Laboratory in the initial years. Currently, NAF Soil Testing Lab is accredited as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 International Standard by NABL, Quality Council of India, Govt. of India. It is the first NGO Lab in India to get this coveted accreditation in the area of agricultural soil testing in the year 2014.
Why Soil Testing?
Crop yield improvement is a combined phenomenon of expression of genetic potential of a particular seed or variety and its healthy nurturing conditions. If the genetic potential is weak, even a good nurturing condition cannot produce desired yields and vice versa. Hence, it is imperative to take necessary steps to maintain the soil health to help the seed / plant express its fullest potential. The balanced plant nutrition calls for the accurate and quality analytical services for soil fertility assessment encompassing the major, secondary and micronutrients and relevant phyto-chemical parameters.
The soil fertility based nutrient management would not only help the farmers provide balanced nutrition to the plants but also minimize the indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers, and reduce the environmental pollution. Once the desired soil fertility level is reached, the cost of cultivation can also be brought down through optimal nutrient management leading to increase in profit for the farmers.
Analytical Services offered by the laboratory includes:
Soil Analysis: Comprehensive Soil health diagnosis, analysis of major, secondary and micro nutrients, phyto chemical parameters for soil fertility assessment, soil texture etc.
Irrigation water Analysis: Analysis of the water samples for its suitability for irrigation purposes
Drinking water Analysis: Analysis of the water samples for its suitability for drinking purposes
Plant Tissue Analysis: Analysis of the plant tissues to ascertain the uptake of nutrients by the plants
Organic Fertilizer Analysis: Analysis of different types of organic fertilizers like vermi compost, city compost etc, to check whether they adhere to the GOI norms for quality control
Bio Products Analysis: Analysis of bio products for their nutritional profile
