• Key Achievements of the Project

  Cumulatively, 7,185.84 cubic meters of Field Bund were constructed.

  384.7 Water Absorption Trenches were developed to improve drainage water flow.

  63.07 hectares of land were covered with Chisel Plough.

  3,505 cubic meters of Cattle pond was excavated

  816.82 cubic meters of Channel were cleared.

NABARD KfW SOIL REHABILITAION & CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION PROJECT

NABARD had sanctioned a new project “SOIL REHABILITAION & CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION PROJECT” in six already existing WDF project locations during the year 2021 and the first instalment fund was released during the month of November 2021.

• The project aims to promote the following interventions:

  Soil and Water conservation measures

  Soil fertility & Productivity enhancement measures.

  Sustainable NRM, CCA farming practices and food security

  Measures to mitigate climate risks.

  Capacity building and institutional strengthening measures.

  Watershed level Knowledge management & Documentation.

K.N.Palayam KfW Soil

• Project Achievements during the Year

  12 Borewell Recharge Pits were constructed.

  4 automated drip irrigation systems were installed.

  73.03 Acres of land application of enriched FYM.

  161.49 Acres of land were treated with biofertilizer application (Azospirillum).

  Gypsum was applied to 81.35 acres of agricultural land.

  Summer ploughing was carried out on 65.8 hectares of land.

  1283 Kg Mulching was implemented for 2001 Horticulture plants.

  4 Acres of land were diversified for floriculture.

  10 Goat Farming units were provided to landless beneficiaries.

  One Integrated Farming System (IFS) model was established in the project area.

  5 Training sessions were conducted for 130 beneficiaries.

  Street drama about soil and water conservation was organized for the communities to increase awareness on soil and water conservation.
